Westin NY Times SquareReceives Elements of Service Training

November 12, 2014

More than 100 managers and associates at the Westin New York Times Square, a major 900-room convention and tourist hotel in the heart of New York’s most famous theater, tourism and business district, underwent Elements of Service training from the Slatin Group in early November. The four workshops were presented by Slatin Group President Peter Slatin and associate Abe Waugh, a wheelchair user studying occupational therapy. The workshops were organized by the hotels HR director, Lisa Ferrara, and were attended by staff from every area of operation. General Manager Sean Bernay welcomed the program and added that it brought important information to the fore. Tishman Hotel Corp., the owner of the property, had recommended the workshop program to the Westin, which Starwood manages.

Following the final workshop, Slatin addressed a Starwood University class consisting of managers and associates from Starwood properties across the region, including the W Times Square, W New York Downtown and the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers. It was the first class given by Mr. Slatin to the prestigious Starwood University program, which the company uses to educate and train its employees worldwide.
