Thank you, Westchester County Tourism & Film for joining us on a learning and teaching journey to increase and improve accessible tourism throughout your 48 municipalities spread over 450 square miles. Helping this popular destination, where tourists spend well above $2 billion annually, address its accessible travel questions with a unified message is a challenge we are embracing. WCTF understands that its needs can be different from those in Our previous work with Destination Marketing Organizations in cities such as New York, Boston, New Orleans and Seattle.

We are preparing the third in a four-part workshop series in the Accessible Tourism Training program that was awarded to Slatin Group following an RFP in 2024.

For the first session, we invited Victtor Calise of S&V Inclusive Resources and Wal-Mart; Leo Charles-Titus from the Frick Collection; and experts in neurodiversity and the performing arts Becky Beary and Imani Russell to present live alongside us to WCTF members and stakeholders from hotels and restaurants to historic attractions and public parks. Wee then held a webinar on Digital Accessibility with leading Deaf advocate Meryl Evans; digital accessibility consultant Matthew Elefant of Inclusive Web; and UX designer Jennifer Chadwick. This September, we’ll bring marketing experts who focus on disability equity and inclusion to help Westchester’s tourism leaders understand not only how broad and diverse the disability market is but also to offer insight into best practices for attracting welcoming and creating exciting new experiences for this ever-growing community. Our final workshop will feature a panel discussion/Q&A exploring continuing challenges, thoughtful solutions and solid achievements in accessible and inclusive tourism across this great destination.
